Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about your sensor, app, and account.

How many days does a monitor last?

Each monitor is designed for 14 days of continuous wear once activated. During this time, it tracks your glucose automatically without interruption.

Where should the monitor be placed?

For the best performance, apply the Monitor to the back of your upper arm. Avoid areas with frequent movement (abdomen, thighs, buttocks, or back) to prevent it from loosening. Before applying, make sure the skin is clean, smooth, and free from lotions, creams, scars, birthmarks, or lumps.

Is the monitor waterproof?

The monitor is water-resistant (IP28 rated) and can be worn during normal daily activities, including showering and exercise.

Please note: the monitor is a single-use device. Removing it from your skin will end the current monitoring session.

Does it hurt to wear?

The monitor is minimally invasive. Most users feel little to no discomfort. Some may notice a slight sensation at first, which usually subsides quickly.

Can I apply the monitor over a tattoo?

Tattoos do not automatically prevent use. However, heavily inked areas may affect adhesion or accuracy. Choosing a non-tattooed area is recommended for best results.

Will I feel the monitor while wearing it?

The monitor is lightweight and discreet (1.3 grams) with a thin, flexible filament that sits comfortably under the skin. Most users quickly forget it’s there.

Is the monitor non-invasive?

Yes, the filament is small (5 mm) and soft, designed for comfort.

How do I start and activate the monitor?

After applying your monitor, open the SyaiHealth app and follow the on-screen instructions.

How long does it take to start working?

The monitor requires a 30-minute warm-up before readings appear.

Will allergies affect my usage?

Some users with sensitive skin may experience mild irritation at the application site, such as slight redness or itching. This is usually temporary.

However, if irritation becomes persistent or more severe — such as noticeable swelling, blistering, or ongoing discomfort — remove the monitor and consult a healthcare professional if necessary.

After removal, gently wash the area with mild soap and water. A soothing product, such as aloe gel, may help calm the skin
before your next application.

Can medications affect my readings?

Some medications or supplements may influence readings, including:

  • Vitamin C
  • Acetaminophen (paracetamol)
  • Ibuprofen
  • Aspirin
  • Salicylic acid

Refer to the Instructions for Use (IFU) for a complete list.

What is continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)?

CGM is a wearable technology that tracks glucose continuously and sends data to your phone. You can see trends in
real-time and understand how meals, activity, and daily habits affect your energy and wellness.

What are the components of the CGM?

The CGM comes as a simple, all-in-one system:

  1. Monitor – a small device that combines the sensor and transmitter.
  2. Applicator – makes applying the monitor quick and easy.
  3. Syai Health app – lets you see your glucose readings in real time
and track trends over hours or days

Everything is designed to be simple, wearable, and easy to use, so you can focus on your day while keeping an eye on your energy and wellness.

What does 24-hour continuous monitoring mean?

The monitor works around the clock, tracking your glucose levels all day and night—whether you’re showering, exercising, working, or sleeping.

It’s designed to give you seamless insights for the full 14-day monitoring period, so you can spot patterns and trends without interruptions.

What are the advantages compared to finger-pricks?

Finger-prick tests show a single point in time. The monitor provides continuous, real-time trends, helping you see patterns in meals, activity, and energy.

How can I use my glucose data?

Log events such as meals, exercise, and sleep in the app to see how they affect your glucose. The more you log, the more
insights you gain to optimise your personal well-being.

Who benefits from continuous glucose monitoring?

Almost anyone! While designed for people with diabetes, others can benefit, including:

  • Adults with Type 2 diabetes not eligible for NHS funding
  • Pre-diabetics aiming to prevent progression
  • Adults managing weight or supporting GLP-1 adjustments
  • Health-conscious individuals seeking optimal well-being
  • Sports enthusiasts and performance optimisers
  • Anyone curious about metabolism and energy patterns
What should I do with HI/LO readings?

“HI” or “LO” indicates values outside the device’s measurement range or environmental issues (e.g., extreme temperature). Monitoring continues, and trends resume once readings return to range. Contact support if unusual readings persist.

Can extreme temperatures affect the monitor?

Yes—high heat (sauna) or extreme cold may cause unusual readings. Wait a few minutes; the app will try to reconnect automatically. If “HI” or “LO” appears three times in a row, contact support@glucoseevolution.co.uk.

Will my historical data be retained after changing the monitor?

Yes! All your historical data stays safe in your account.

When your monitor expires, make sure to synchronise your data — if anything is missing, the app will notify you. Once synced, your past readings and trends will be saved and ready to view anytime.

How do I access my Glucose Report?

At the end of each session, the app automatically generates a Glucose Report. Go to Profile → Glucose Report to view trends and patterns.

Why does the app ask for location permission?

The permission is required for device detection. Your location is not collected or sold, and data is protected under our privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

The app isn’t installing. What should I do?

Check your phone is compatible.Update your phone software. Ensure enough free storage space. If issues persist, contact support@glucoseevolution.co.uk.

The monitor will not connect. What should I do?
  • Ensure Bluetooth is on and permissions are granted
  • Follow the app’s on-screen instructions
  • The app usually reconnects automatically if disconnected

    If problems continue, contact support@glucoseevolution.co.uk.
Why do Glucose readings differ from finger-pricks?

Finger-pricks measure blood glucose, while the monitor tracks interstitial fluid, which reacts slightly slower. Expect a 15–20 minute lag. Focus on trends for lifestyle insights.

What should I do if the monitor is disconnected?

The app usually reconnects automatically. Wait a few seconds. If it doesn’t, contact support@glucoseevolution.co.uk.

Can I reconnect the monitor after ending a session?

No. Once “End My Session” is tapped, the monitor disables itself. Apply a new monitor to continue tracking.

What should I do if the monitor comes loose early?

Contact support@glucoseevolution.co.uk with your order number and a brief description.

How do I dispose of this?

The monitor is single-use. Dispose responsibly according to local regulations for electronics, batteries, and components exposed to bodily fluids.

At Glucose Evolution, we want you to be happy with your monitor. For order cancellations, returns, or replacements, contact support@glucoseevolution.co.uk.
